Sidi Diablo GTX Shoe

I've been using these shoes for a month or two in Portland weather (rain and upper 30s to lower 40s in the morning). My feet have been toasty every day. These shoes are much more convenient than my regular shoes plus neoprene booties, although the booties will keep rain from going down the shoe a little bit more.

The upper cuff is too short for most tights. The designers appear to believe that the cuff will keep out water when tights are tucked into the cuff. Doesn't work that way - wet feet in 30 minutes in any kind of medium to heavy rain. The tights must go over the cuff, allowing the water to run off of the tights and onto the outside of the shoe.

The Showers Pass Roadie tights have a built-in spat which allows the tights to be attached to the shoe, hence the tights stay over the cuff and keep water out of the shoe. Pearl Izumi Amfibs and other tights don't have such a feature and the tight eventually rides up over the cuff and you end up with wet feet.
